Privacy Settings on Hoolan
Your privacy is fully in your control on Hoolan. You decide who can see your profile and your sessions.
By default, your data is private. If you prefer to keep Hoolan completely private, simply don’t send or accept any follow requests - no additional settings are required.
Your health data is always private and is never visible to other users.
How to manage your privacy settings
Go to:
Profile > Settings > Preferences > Privacy Controls
You can control:

Your profile visibility

Your session visibility
Profile visibility
Choose who can see your profile:
Followers (default)
Only people you approve as followers can view your profile.
This is best if you only want to connect with friends.
If you accept a follow request:

Your follower can see your profile (image, name, username)
-
They can access your sessions (depending on session settings)
People who are not your followers:

Can only see your name and username in connection lists
-
Cannot access your profile or sessions
Public
Anyone with a Hoolan account can view your profile and follow you.
This is best if you want maximum visibility within the Hoolan community.
If your profile is public:

Other users can access your profile from connection lists
-
They can follow you instantly from your profile (no request link needed)
Session visibility
Choose who can see your sessions.
Followers (default)
Only your followers can see your sessions and analytics.

Your sessions appear in followers’ feeds

They can also view them from your profile
If you want to hide a specific session:

Open the session
-
Tap the ‘…’ menu

Select Edit > Privacy
-
Set to Only You
Everyone
-
If your profile is Public, anyone can see your sessions

If your profile is Followers, only your followers will still see your sessions
Only You
Only you can see your sessiojns by default.
You can choose to share individual sessions:

Open the session
-
Tap the ‘…’ menu
-
Select Edit > Privacy

Change to Followers
Important note
Changing your default setting only affects future sessions.
To update past sessions, you’ll need to edit them individually.
A bulk update option is planned.

Only want to connect with friends?

Only people you approve can see your profile and sessions.
Want to share only selected sessions?

Your sessions are private by default. You can choose which ones to share.
Want to stay fully private?
Don’t send or accept any follow requests.
Your profile and sessions will remain private.
(Optional: set sessions to Only You for extra control.)
