Recording your session
Before you record your first session using the Hoolan App on your Garmin watch, double check that the settings for jump detection and your recording screen are right for you.
STEP 1
Record
Scroll to select your activity and board type then press the START/STOP button to start recording:

Jump calibration - no longer needed!
To make the recording process easier, once you have used Hoolan for the first time, the watch app will remember and store your most recent activities (up to five), and put these at the top of the list on the record screen.

STEP 2
Lock your watch
We advise that you lock your watch so that your session isn't accidentally paused or stopped whilst recording, for example by your wrist bending back and pressing the START/STOP button.
Go to your Garmin Watch controls and select the padlock icon. All buttons will now be deactivated on your watch. Press and hold any button to deactivate the device lock.
If lock device isn't showing in your controls, go to your Garmin watch main menu > Appearance > Controls > Lock device to add it.

STEP 3
View your stats during your session
You are able to customise the statistics visible on your recording screen.

Default recording screen for kiteboarding (twin tippers)

Default recording screen for every other activity
Live jump alert
After every jump over 1.5 m, you will get a jump alert (buzz on your wrist) and a jump screen will appear for a few seconds as soon as you land to give you the jump statistics.

STEP 4
Save your session
If you have locked your watch, firstly press and hold any button to unlock it.
Press the START/STOP button and select Save.

Once your watch is in bluetooth range of your phone (a few metres), your session will automatically upload to the Hoolan phone app via Garmin Connect. If your session hasn't uploaded you may need to go to your phone and open the Garmin connect app and press the synch button.
