Hoolan X Strava: Send Your Sessions Directly to Strava
One of our most requested features is here! If you like to keep a record of your wingfoiling, kitesurfing and windsurfing sessions in Strava, you can now send them straight from Hoolan in a couple of taps. No more downloading and uploading GPX files. This works for everyone using the Hoolan iPhone app, whether you track on Apple Watch or Garmin. (On Android? Your Garmin sessions can already be synced to Strava through Garmin Connect.)
Step 1: Connect your accounts
In the Hoolan iPhone app, go to Profile > Settings > Account > Integrations > Strava and follow the steps to link your accounts.

Step 2: Export your session
Open the session you want to send. On the Session Details screen, tap ••• in the top right, then Export > Send to Strava.

Good to know
One at a time. Sessions are sent individually, and you can send older sessions too.
What gets sent. Your GPS location points, time and (if you choose) heart rate.
Wingfoilers. Strava doesn't have a wingfoiling activity yet, so your sessions will show up as windsurfing. We're petitioning them to add it!
Units. A quirk of Strava is that it fixes your units for sailing and windsurfing activities at knots and nautical miles, regardless of your unit display setting preferences.
Privacy. Once a session is in Strava, who can see it depends on your Strava privacy settings, not your Hoolan ones.
Why don't the numbers match
You might notice your max speed and calories look different in Strava. Hoolan calculates speed using Doppler data from your watch, which is far more accurate than working it out from GPS coordinates. Strava uses coordinates only. For calories, Hoolan uses Apple's calculation, which draws on your watch's full range of sensors. For the full story, see our Strava FAQs on speed and calories at the bottom of our Home and Help pages. Your full breakdown stays right here in Hoolan: runs, transitions, jumps, personal bests and map analysis. And like everything in Hoolan, it's completely free 🚀.
Make sure you're on the latest version (here's how to check on iPhone) and give it a go after your next session 🤙.
